Charles Thorp, born at Stadhampton, England, March 30, 1838 to Reverend John Thorp and Elizabeth Ormandy. He came from England to Canada as a young Episcopal minister, then he came over to the United States. In 1865 Charles married Mary Bagnall presumably in Quebec, Canada. Mary was born in 1844 in St. Anselme, Quebec. Mary died in the spring of 1886. Six children were born to the couple. On October 5, 1889 Charles married second Katharine Payne,in Wisconsin. To this union were born five children. Charles died February 10, 1911 at Mansfield, Texas. Katharine died October 23, 1953 at the age of 93 years.
